The aim of the invention is to provide a valve timing control system which can reduce the overall costs by having different structures according to heat resistance requirements at an intake side and an exhaust side for electricity conducting devices of each VTC at an intake side and an exhaust side. For the electric-powered VTC (04, 05) at the intake side and the exhaust side having the same basic structure, the valve timing for the intake valve and the exhaust valve is changed by applying electricity to an electric motor (12) through slip rings (26a, 26b) and second brushes (30a, 30b) which make electrical contacts with the slip rings through slide contacts; a resin plate (22) or a resin holder (23q, 23b) of VTC at the intake side and a retaining body (28) for retaining a second brush are formed by polyphenylene sulfide resin which has an excellent heat resistance property; and parts of VTC at the exhaust side which correspond to parts of VTC at the intake side, such as the retaining body or the like, are formed by nylon resin which is less expensive. |
