The device (1) includes a body side hinged lockable control arm (3) to specify a motor vehicle door (2) in predetermined angular positions relative to a motor vehicle chassis (4) while tilting the motor vehicle door about a hinge axis (A). The motor vehicle door is fastened to an actuator (5), and a pivoting lever (6) is pivoted by the actuator about an actuator axis (D). The pivoting lever and the control arm are pivotally connected on a common pivot axis (C). The control arm is rotatably coupled to the pivoting lever for fixing and/or tilting the motor vehicle door.
