The machine i.e. axial piston pump (1), has an adjustment device (2) for adjusting a pivoting angle (alpha) between an axle and a drive shaft (3) or between a swivel cradle (4) and the drive shaft. The adjustment device comprises a valve (44) having a continuously adjustable valve slide (48). The valve slide is loaded with reconducting force over a return spring (20) and loaded with reaction force over a counter spring (50), where the reaction force acts opposite to the reconducting force. The springs are arranged concentric to each other at a common side of the valve slide.
