<p>Provided are: a magnesium hydroxide particle and a magnesium oxide particle, each of which has a high specific surface area; and methods respectively for producing the particles. A magnesium hydroxide particle and a magnesium oxide particle, each of which has a rod-like shape formed by the aggregation of scale-like primary particles, also has a volume cumulative 50% particle diameter (D50) of 1.0 to 10.0μm as measured by a laser diffraction scattering particle size distribution measurement method, and also has a specific surface area of 10 m2/g or more.</p> |
