PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating machine capable of spot-coating a transfer body with a thick layer, and a coating method using the coating machine.SOLUTION: A coating machine 100 comprises: a first coating unit 120 including a first impression cylinder 121 for supporting and transferring a sheet 1, and a rotary screen cylinder 122 juxtaposed to the first impression cylinder 121 for coating a first varnish to one face of the sheet 1 passing between itself and the first impression cylinder 121; and a second coating unit 130 including a second impression cylinder 131 arranged on the downstream side of the transfer direction of the sheet 1 of the first coating unit 120, for supporting and transporting the sheet 1 so that the outer circumference may contact with the other face of the sheet 1, a coater cylinder 132 confronting the second impression cylinder 131, an anilox roller 133 confronting the coater cylinder 132, and a chamber 134 for feeding a second varnish to the anilox roller 133. |
