A method for controlling a motor control device comprises: detecting the amount of noise current that is generated in an inverter and that flows into a noise filter; sampling the detected values at an interval of a carrier frequency; determining whether or not the envelope of each sample value can be taken as constant; and altering the carrier frequency to not overlap with a cutoff frequency (fr) for the noise filter or to not be near the cutoff frequency (fr) of the noise filter, when the envelope of each sample value can be taken as constant. Thereby, it is possible to achieve a desired noise reduction effect using the ferrite core of a common mode coil without inducing magnetic saturation without requesting specific countermeasures from the noise filter manufacturer, even when the noise filter incorporated in a motor control device is manufactured in accordance with the specifications of a noise filter manufacturer. |
