The invention provides isolated polynucleotides encoding polypeptides from Brevibacillus laterosporus, variants and fragments thereof with insecticidal activity. The invention also provides the corresponding polypeptides, variants and fragments. The invention provides constructs, cells and plants containing the polynucleotides, variants and fragments. The invention also provides methods for producing insect resistant plants, and methods for controlling insect pests utilising the polynucleotides and polypeptides of the invention.
