<p>In order to enhance uniformity of backlight in an image display device that is capable of providing naked eye stereoscopic display so as to display high-quality images, an image display device (100) includes: an illumination section (110) in which a plurality of cells are arranged on a flat surface; and a spatial light modulation panel (104) that modulates light emitted from the illumination section based on a first image signal and a second image signal. Each cell includes a first light source, a second light source, and a lens that collimates light from each light source into substantially parallel light. The cells are configured so that the first light source and the second light source of each cell are arranged substantially symmetrically with respect to the center axis of the cell, and that light emitted from a cell located at the center of the illumination section and light emitted from a cell located in a periphery of the illumination section, are emitted from the illumination section in different directions, respectively.</p> |
