PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user-friendly fundus photographing apparatus which performs observation and photographing with a single image pickup device.SOLUTION: A fundus photographing apparatus for photographing the fundus of a subject's eye, which comprises a focusing lens movable in an optical axis direction and an image pickup device having sensitivity to both visible and infrared regions, further comprises: a fundus observation and photographing optical system which uses the image pickup device to acquire both an observation image of the fundus by light of a first wavelength and a photographed image of the fundus by light of a second wavelength different from the first wavelength; focus detection means which detects a focusing state of the fundus of the subject's eye to the image pickup device by using a signal output by the image pickup device at the fundus observation by the light of the first wavelength; and focus adjustment means which guides the movement of the focusing lens on the basis of a detection result of the focus detection means, and corrects the detection result of the focus detection means to move the focusing lens to an in-focus position for photographing the fundus by the light of the second wavelength. |
