Provided is a support device wherein a data carrier member can be disposed in the inner circumferential face of a cylindrical member without being damaged by contact with a support shaft and a shaft member for operating a mounting means has a high bending stiffness. A support device (21) that supports a cylindrical member (6) on which an elongated body (RS) is wound comprises: a support shaft (213) that supports the cylindrical member (6) fitted to the support shaft from an opening on one end, in the lengthwise direction, of the cylindrical member (6); an anchoring plate (217) that is built into the support shaft (213) and that anchors the cylindrical member (6) from the inner circumferential side; and an operating means that projects from the distal end of the support shaft (213) to the front, and that has an operating shaft (214), with a smaller diameter than the support shaft (213), for operating the anchoring plate (217). The device further comprises a protecting member (218) attached to the distal end of the support shaft (213) and through which the operating shaft (214) passes, and the protecting member (218) has a reduced diameter section (218b) with a diameter smaller than the support shaft (213). |
