PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder comprising a sheet detection mechanism in which a position of a flag member detecting a sheet surface and a position of a member supporting a feed roller can be detected by one sensor.SOLUTION: The sheet feeder comprises: a support member 4 which supports a feed roller 1 in a rocking enabled manner; a flag member 7 which can be rocked for detecting a top face position of sheets; link means for linking to move the support member and the flag member in a first state where the feed roller is separated from a top face of stacked sheets and the flag member is abutted to the top face of the sheets and a second state where the feed roller is abutted to the top face of the sheets and the flag member is separated from the top face of the sheets; and detection means including one sensor 8 for detecting a top face position of stacked sheets and including, in the flag member or the support member, a first detection part 7c which is detected by the sensor under the first state, and a second detection part 7d which is detected under the second state. |
