Provided is a method for producing a polarizing film, which exhibits excellent production efficiency, while maintaining optical characteristics. A method for producing a polarizing film according to the present invention comprises, in the following order: a step for stretching a resin base in a first direction; a step for heating the resin base; a step for producing a laminate by forming a polyvinyl alcohol resin layer on the resin base; and a step for stretching the laminate in a second direction.
