PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character input system which allows character input in a short time with fewer operations even when using one finger, and to provide a portable terminal with the system, especially, a mobile phone.SOLUTION: A character system comprises: a touch panel 6 which detects a pressurized position to transmit the position as positional information; a CPU 9 as processing means which specifies one character by receiving the positional information and performing an arithmetic operation to transmit the character as character information; and a display part 5 which receives the character information to display the specified character. The CPU 9 specifies one character by the positional information obtained from start of one pressurizing operation to termination. |
