PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray computed tomography apparatus which allows the number of photons of a polychromatic X-ray made incident on a collimator to be grouped by an energy region.SOLUTION: An X-ray computed tomography apparatus 1 includes: an X-ray beam generating section 105; a collimator including a diffraction body which is provided in each of a plurality of through-holes and refracts the X-ray beam at an angle corresponding to the energy of the X-ray; a plurality of X-ray detection elements provided at a predetermined distance from the diffraction bodies; a counting section 109 which counts the number of photons derived from the X-ray on the basis of output of the X-ray detection elements; a storage section 200 which stores statistical information that corresponds to each energy region in X-ray and that relates to counting distribution of counted photon numbers with respect to positions of the respective X-ray detection elements; a grouping section 300 which groups the counted number of photons by energy region using the statistical information; and a reconstruction section 400 which reconstructs a medical image corresponding to the energy region on the basis of the grouped number of photons.
