APPARATUS FOR TETHERING A CAP FOR A SPRAYER TANK TO THE TANK

Apparatus providing a tethered cap (16) for a fill opening (14) of a sprayer tank (10) which is tethered inside, rather than outside the tank, via a tether line (18) movably attached to a basket (32) suspended in the tank, and having a gasket (26) at an upper end of the basket which is engaged by the cap (16) to seal the fill opening (14) in the tank when the cap (16) is closed. The tether line (18) extends through the gasket (26) so that the basket (32), the gasket (26), and the cap (16) are tethered to each other. The cap (16) remains connected to the tank (10) when it is removed there from in order to fill the tank (10) and misplacement of the cap (16) is also precluded even though the cap (16) is not held by the sprayer operator while the tank (10) is being filled.
