1. A DC-coupled laser drive circuit comprising:
a pre-driver for adjusting an amplitude of a voltage signal modulated by a data signal; a main driver, connected to a laser diode device without a capacitor in between, which converts, into an electric current signal to be supplied to the laser diode device, a voltage signal whose amplitude has been adjusted by the pre-driver; a voltage drop section, provided between the pre-driver and a power source for supplying electric power to the pre-driver, in which an amount of a voltage drop is variable; and a voltage drop amount controlling section for controlling, in accordance with a voltage signal whose amplitude has been adjusted by the pre-driver, the amount of the voltage drop in the voltage drop section. |
