A power line carrier communication system of the present invention comprises a plurality of slave devices, a plurality of master devices, a detection unit and a processing unit. Each master device, which has a storage unit that stores a set of pieces of identification information of those ones of the plurality of slave devices with which the master device can communicate, communicates, via a power line, with the slave devices identified by those pieces of identification information included in the set stored in the storage unit. The detection unit determines that there exists the duplication of a piece of identification information if the same piece of identification information is included in at least two ones of the sets stored in the respective storage units of the plurality of master devices. When the detection unit determines that there exists the duplication, the processing unit performs a processing to associate each of the plurality of slave devices with any one of the plurality of master devices so as to eliminate the duplication. |
