<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce sleep transition time after print data is printed from an information terminal on-line connected, to achieve power saving.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus operates depending on a user who directly operates a digital multifunction machine for printing, and a user who operates an on-line information terminal for printing. In on-line printing, sleep mode transition time, which is required for shifting from ready mode to sleep mode upon completion of printing, is made shorter than the case where the user directly operates the digital multifunction machine 100 for printing. Power to be consumed in the sleep mode transition time required for shifting from the printing mode to the sleep mode can be saved, thereby contributing to power saving.</p> |
