An endoscope device comprises: an illumination unit which is capable of illuminating a subject with an illumination light of white light or light with a plurality of wavelength bands; an imaging unit which has a color filter composed of a plurality of filters and images return light from the subject; and an illumination control unit which when imaging, with the imaging unit, the return light of two or more pluralities of wavelength bands within a transmission wavelength band of at least one filter of the plurality of filters, performs control such that the illumination unit emits the illumination light by time sharing the illumination light into two or more portions, and when imaging the return light in a state where no more than one return light is included in each of at least two wavelength bands of the plurality of filters, performs control such that the illumination unit simultaneously emits the illumination light of two or more pluralities of wavelength bands. |
