The method involves performing heat treatment of a blank to form a sliding surface of inner ring (130) and outer ring (140) of a sliding bearing (100). The inner and outer rings are assembled to obtain a plain sliding bearing and injecting mineral oil of 5-15 vol% between the rings. A seal is fixed to the slide bearing such that the space between the sliding surfaces are sealed and interface between sliding surfaces of rings is parallel. The martensitic curing process and bainitic hardening process are performed before providing the blank for heat treatment. An independent claim is included for sliding bearing.
