BUTTRESS ATTACHMENT FOR CIRCULAR STAPLING DEVICE A circular stapling device (10) includes a circular anvil assembly (200) and a circular cartridge assembly (100). The anvil assembly (200) includes a cap (220) and head (210). The cap (220) is movable relative to the head (210). The head (210) supports a crush ring member (240) that is movable into engagement with the cap (220) to move the cap (220) to an unapproximated position relative to the head (210) to release a portion of an anvil buttress member (230) supported between the anvil cap (220) and the anvil head (210). The cartridge assembly (100) includes a housing (110), a pusher member (150), a retaining ring member (120), and a fastener cartridge (130). The retaining ring member (120) releasably secures a portion of a cartridge buttress member (140) to one or both of the housing (110) and the fastener cartridge (130). The retaining ring member (120) releases the cartridge buttress member (140) when the retaining ring member (120) moves from a radially constricted condition to a radially expanded condition in response to a movement of the pusher member (150).
