PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent method for separating ethylene.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for industrially obtaining high quality ethylene by removing ethane from a mixed gas containing at least ethane and ethylene using an adsorbent, which is a metal complex composed of an organic ligand L represented by the formula (I) and at least one metal M selected from the group consisting of beryllium, magnesium, calcium, strontium, barium, titanium, zirconium, vanadium, chromium, molybdenum, tungsten, manganese, iron, ruthenium, cobalt, rhodium, nickel, palladium, platinum, copper, zinc, cadmium, aluminum and indium, and in which the composition is [M(L)]. |
