PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet binding device, a sheet processing apparatus, an image forming apparatus, an image forming system, and a sheet binding method capable of simplifying the control in binding processing regardless of the thickness of a sheet bundle.SOLUTION: The sheet binding device includes a pair of crimping members, and a crimping member moving means for moving a movable crimping member constituting one of the pair of crimping members. The movable crimping member moving means includes: a link mechanism including a first link member rotatably connected to the movable crimping member at one end, a second link member rotatably connected to a fixed member at one end, and a connecting part for rotatably connecting to the respective other ends of the first link member and the second link member; a connecting member rotatably connected to the connecting part of the link mechanism at one end, and capable of moving between a first position causing the link mechanism to be extended and a second position causing the link mechanism to be flexed; and a connecting member moving means having a rotary member rotatable about a displaceable rotating shaft and reciprocating the connecting member between the first position and the second position by rotation of the rotary member in one direction. |
