Navigation systems that enhance driver awareness are provided. Information associated with a location of a vehicle may be determined. Based at least in part upon the determined location, awareness information associated with the vehicle may be collected. The awareness information may include at least one of crime information, accident information, legal information, or future traffic information. Based at least in part upon the collected awareness information, output information may be generated for presentation, and the generated output information may be output.

1. At least one computer-readable medium comprising computer-executable instructions that, when executed by at least one processor, configure the at least one processor to:
determine information associated with a location of a vehicle; collect, based at least in part upon the determined location, awareness information associated with the vehicle, the awareness information comprising at least one of (i) crime information, (ii) accident information, (iii) legal information, or (iv) future traffic information; generate, based at least in part upon the collected awareness information, output information for presentation; and direct output of the generated output information.
