The magnet (1) has a center identification mark (5) which represents a center of the magnet perpendicular to a magnetization span direction (R). The magnetization span direction and the center identification mark are provided along a plane of symmetry of the magnet. The center identification mark is extended from a first edge (17) to a second edge (19). Independent claims are included for the following: (1) an electric machine; and (2) a method for manufacturing a magnet.
