A contactless charging device includes: a charge coil (9) for charging a portable device (11); a charge control unit (18) that controls energization of the charge coil (9); and a communication unit (19) that communicates with the portable device (11). The charge control unit (18) is configured to output to the portable device (11), via the communication unit (19), a control signal indicating the placement of the portable device (11) at a position opposite the charge coil (9), and a control signal indicating removal from the position opposite the charge coil (9).
