PROCESS FOR PRODUCING RESIN LENS

A process for producing a resin lens by cast molding, comprising: using a base lens (11) as a first mold (11'); disposing a second mold (17) on one face side of the first mold (11') so as to form a prescribed nearly uniform space therebteween; sealing the periphery of the space between the first and second molds (11',17) with a tape (19) or the like to constitute a cavity (21); pouring a liquid resin raw material into the cavity (21) to form a functional resin layer (15) though cast molding; and thus unifying the base lens (11) and the functional resin layer (15). In the process, the base lens (11) used as the first mold (11') is provided with a thermoplastic elastomer-based adhesive layer on the face on the side on which the functional resin layer (15) is to be formed. In an adhesion test, the resin lens thus produced exhibits excellent adhesion not only in mechanical working but also in a warm or hot water resistance test. Further, it is expected that the resin lens will exhibit improved service durability even under high-temperature and high-humidity conditions.
