The present invention relates to antibodies and antigen binding fragments thereof which bind to the human CD70 protein with high affinity and display potent inhibition of tumour cell growth.

An isolated polynucleotide that encodes an antibody, or an antigen binding fragment thereof which binds to human CD70, said antibody or antigen binding fragment comprising at least one heavy chain variable domain (VH) and at least one light chain variable domain (VL), wherein said VH and VL domain, when tested as a Fab fragment, exhibit an off-rate (koff measured by Biacore) for human CD70 of less than 7×10−4 s−1.
