PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a member joining method which enables poor weld to be easily prevented, even when a clearance is apt to arise between members to be laser-welded to each other.SOLUTION: The member joining method for joining end parts 2a and 3a of pipe members to each other by laser-welding, comprises a member arranging step of arranging the pipe members in such manner that the end parts 2a and 3a overlap each other in the thickness direction, a first laser irradiating step of forming a melted part 4A where the end part 2a overlapping with the end part 3a melts over its thickness direction by irradiating the end part 2a with a laser beam L1 and a second laser irradiating step of, after the melted part 4A solidifies to form a melt solidification part 4a, irradiating a surface of the melt solidification part 4a with the laser beam from a direction toward an end part 3a with the melt solidification part 4a interposed between the surface and the end part 3a, thereby melting the melt solidification part 4a and the end part 3a opposed to the melt solidification part 4a, consequently forming a weld zone 4b composed of an alloy in which material of the end part 2a and material of the end part 3a are mixed, and joining the end parts 2a and 2b via the weld zone 4b. |
