PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spherical composite powder which has a spherical shape, a good feeling of use, excellent dispersibility, excellent soft focusing feature, and an excellent ultraviolet absorption effect, and has a low surface activity, to provide a production method thereof, and to provide a cosmetic.SOLUTION: A spherical composite powder which has a spherical shape, a good feeling of use, excellent dispersibility, excellent soft focusing feature, and an excellent ultraviolet absorption effect, and has a low surface activity, is obtained by dispersing and expanding a montmorillonite-based clay mineral into water, homogeneously dispersing, in this solution, a particulate inorganic oxide with mean particle diameter of 100 nm or less having ultraviolet absorption effect, spray drying the resulting slurry, and subsequently calcining it at 500°C or more. A cosmetic using this spherical composite powder is excellent in a feeling of use, a covering effect, a bare skin feeling, and a makeup result. |
