Parking brake for a vehicle

The brake (10) has a brake element (12) movable between a vehicle wheel braking position and a vehicle wheel release position by an actuator. The actuator is designed as a magnetic actuator (20), which comprises a magnetic element for producing magnetic forces for holding the brake element in the braking position and the release position in a stable manner. The magnetic element is designed as a permanent magnet (24). The magnetic actuator comprises one or multiple coils (30) for moving the brake element between the braking position and the release position.
