<p>A device and method to aid catheter insertion into a male patient is disclosed. The device comprises a sheath 2 adapted to fit over the penis of the patient. The sheath 2 has a first opening 3 at one end of the sheath 2, and a second opening 6 at the opposite end of the sheath 2. The first opening 3 is adapted to allow the sheath 2 to be fitted over the penis of the patient, and the second opening 6 is adapted to allow a catheter 7 to be inserted into the urethra of the patient. The sheath further comprises a band 10a, 10b between the first and second openings 3, 6, wherein the band 10a, 10b is adapted to enable retraction of the foreskin of the patient.</p> |
