The present invention relates to a multi-layer system for reinforcing, flame protection and smoke suppression purposes of cellular organic polymers, leading to improved strength together with fire retardant properties and low smoke generation, the process for manufacturing of such multi-layer systems, the application of such multi-layer systems on expanded organic polymers and the use of such multi-layer systems and resulting composites.
