PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a matrix converter capable of continuing the power conversion operation, even when an AC power supply has a lower voltage.SOLUTION: The matrix converter includes a control unit performing power conversion control between an AC power supply and a dynamo-electric machine, by controlling a plurality of bidirectional switches connecting respective phases of the AC power supply and respective phases of the dynamo-electric machine. The control unit has a first drive control unit performing power conversion control by turning a plurality of one-way switching elements, constituting the plurality of bidirectional switches, entirely on, and a second drive control unit performing power conversion control by turning some of a plurality of one-way switching elements, constituting a plurality of bidirectional switches, on. |
