The invention relates to an arrester device for a motor vehicle door unit, with a chamber (3) which is filled with a hydraulic medium, furthermore with at least one displacer (4) which is connected to a door wing (2), and with at least one valve (5), wherein the outlet cross section (A) of the valve (5) is dimensioned to be larger than the inlet cross section (E) thereof, and the valve (5) and the displacer (4) are each arranged eccentrically in comparison to a common axis of rotation (6) and individually or jointly fill a radial cross section (R) of the chamber (3) such that rotations of the valve (5) and/or of the displacer (4) in relation to the chamber (3) correspond to a cross-sectional jump in the flow of the hydraulic medium through the open valve (5).
