A method and an apparatus for processing upstream data abnormity are provided. The method includes: an Optical Line Terminal (OLT) detecting that upstream data is abnormal, the OLT instructing one or more Optical Network Units (ONUs) to stop transmitting the upstream data and/or instructing one or more ONUs to change a physical channel. By means of stopping ONUs from transmitting upstream data and/or changing the physical channels of ONUs, the present invention solves the problem of the upstream data abnormity in the related art, thereby can avoid the impact on normal service transmission of ONUs, and ensure the quality of the network service.
