A saw blade is positionable to extend upwardly through the saw blade opening. A first extension includes a first extension work piece support surface which is pivotable with respect to the base portion between a first position coplanar with the base work piece support surface and a second position above the support plane. A second extension includes a second extension work piece support surface which is pivotable between a third position coplanar with the base work piece support surface and a fourth position above the support plane. The table saw assembly includes a handle located above the work piece support surface and accessible by a user when the first extension is in the second position and the second extension is in the fourth position.</p>
