<p>User authentication for accessing a service provided over a cellular network is provided. A user device for communication with the cellular network has at least two unique identifiers associated with the cellular network, i.e. the IMEI, the IMSI, the MSISDN. An authentication code based on security information that is based on both the IMEI and IMSI/MSIDSN unique identifiers and a service credential (which may be a PIN code), associated with the user. The service credential, which may be a PIN code, is unknown to the user device. The security information may be communicated from the user device to an authentication device separate from the user device over a secondary communications link such as a near field link. The authentication code may be generated at the authentication device.</p> |
