A social networking system user includes objects maintained by the social networking system in a collection of objects associated with the user's user profile. The objects in a collection may be associated with a product or service offered by a system external to the social networking system. A story may be generated describing the product associated with the object added to the collection. The story may be presented to other social networking system users connected to the user. Metadata describing the product is associated with the object included in the collection and is updated. The user may be notified of the updated metadata or an action may be performed if the updated metadata satisfy one or more criteria. |
