The disclosed power conversion device (1) is configured from a MERS (100) and a control means (105), and is connected in parallel between a load (300) and a series circuit comprising an AC power source (210), a resistor (R), and a reactor (L). By means of the control means (105) switching on and off a reverse-conducting semiconductor switch that configures the MERS (100), the MERS (100) increases the voltage of the output of the AC power source (210), and regulates such that the current flowing through the AC power source (210) does not exceed the rating of the AC power source (210). |
