Detecting analytes in a sample, comprises providing a solid phase of a nonporous carrier with two separated immobilized analyte-specific receptor test areas, contacting the sample, solid phase and signal-providing marker molecule labeled free-analyte-specific receptor labeled, and detecting the generated signal on the test areas and determining the presence or amount of analyte in the sample. - Independent claims are also included for the following: - (1) the solid phase used in the method above; - (2) the use of the solid phase as part of an immunoassay; and - (3) a test kit for carrying out the method above, comprising the solid phase of (1) and detection reagents.
