<p>A dropper 30 for securing a lead 10 to a fishing line 12 of a chod rig that further includes a hook link (14, fig 2) which is able to slide along the fishing line relative to the lead. The dropper includes a housing 32 for securing to the fishing line 12 and a resiliently biased catch member 34 movable relative to the housing between a closed position in which the lead is secured to the housing and an open position in which the lead is separable from the housing. The catch member is slidably movable relative to the housing towards the open position by application of a force to it by the hook link. Preferably the end of the fishing line is anchored to the housing by a ball or pin 38 which is received in a cavity on the exterior of the housing.</p> |
