The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a lower arm using hammer forging and a lower arm manufactured by the method and, more specifically, to a method for manufacturing a lower arm which manufactures a lower arm, configured to mount a knuckle mounted on a front-end portion of a cross member which is a main component constituting a body of a vehicle such as a jeep or a bus to support a wheel, by simply using a thick plate, cutting the outer shape of the thick plate with a plasma and heating the thick plate, then manufacturing the lower arm by hammer forging, rather than by using a round bar to manufacture a lower arm. The method for manufacturing a lower arm for a vehicle or an industrial machine comprises a process of forming a mockup of a lower arm used to mount a knuckle, which supports a wheel, on a thick plate having a thickness of 45-65 mm, and using a plasma cutter to cut the mockup; a process of heating the cut mockup of a lower arm by 1150 °C-1250 °C in a heating furnace; and a process of manufacturing a lower arm in which the heated mockup of the lower arm is mounted on a lower mold, and an upper mold hits the lower mold while descending for a preset number of times by hammer forging which includes a mold and trimming. |
