According to the present invention, a sluice gate to control a flow rate or to maintain the depth of water is installed on a point in the main stream of river or is installed on a point in the branch stream of the river, wherein the point in the main stream allows flood to diverge to a sluiceway and the point in the branch stream prevents the backflow of the flood from the main stream. The sluice gate according to the present invention controls the flow or the amount of the water by increasing or decreasing the opening degree of a waterway in a reservoir, a man-made lake, the river, an agricultural waterway, and the like or has a shield guided to be elevated to prevent the backflow in case of a localized heavy rain, thereby controlling the flow or the amount of the water, wherein the shield is guided to be elevated along both guide rails of a civil engineering structure constructed on the point preventing the backflow or the point allowing the flood to diverge. The sluice gate according to the present invention comprises: a conduit-type power generation apparatus which is installed in the shield therein and converts mechanical energy into electric energy using a generator after converting the potential energy of the water into the mechanical energy by a waterwheel; a battery accumulating the electric energy generated from the conduit-type power generation apparatus; an air compressor driven by power supplied from the battery; and actuators which is installed along the guide rails and opens or closes the shield when expanded or contracted by compressed air applied or released by the air compressor, wherein the potential energy of the water is due to a water level difference between the upper and the lower stream of the river. |
