The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising yellow poplar extract as an active ingredient for treating chronic myelogenous leukemia. More specifically, the present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising yellow poplar extract, as an active ingredient, useful for selectively inhibiting the T315I mutant enzyme due to BCR-ABL fusion gene mutation, which is a genetic cause of chronic myelogenous leukemia; and to a use of epi-tulipinolide, which is an active valid ingredient of the pharmaceutical composition.
