[Also in Groups IX and XVII] In apparatus for depositing wound pirns a doffed from any of a number of side-by-side winders B, into a magazine 44, the pirns are delivered by an endless conveyer 38 on to a baffle 25 carried by a bell-crank 21, 22 pivoted at 23 in a bottomless box 13, 14 mounted on the end of the machine frame A. The pirns roll down baffle 25 until they come to rest against a pivoted, spring-loaded flap 34, Baffle 25 and two arms 27, which are also carried by bell-crank 21, 22, are swung to and fro by a constantly rotating eccentric cam 15, their position of rest being determined by engagement of a set screw 30 with a stop 31. As baffle 25 swings backwards, any pirn resting against flap 34 drops on to a stationary apron 32, and as the baffle swings forward again it pushes the pirn off apron 32 into a compartment 40 of a bottomless box 41, disposed in the magazine, where it rests on the ends of arms 27 until the latter swings backwards again, when the pirn drops on to the other pirns in the compartment. |
