Provided is a preparation method of silver-impregnated activated carbon from which silver is not easily eluted, and which maintains a long-term antibacterial effect, reduces the environmental burden, and easily controls the oxidation degree. A preparation method of silver-impregnated activated carbon comprises the steps of: impregnating activated carbon with silver nitrate; heat-treating the activated carbon at 440 to 1200 deg.C in an inert atmosphere for 1 minute to 10 hours; and heat-treating the activated carbon to a temperature of 200 to 800 deg.C in an atmosphere of a mixed gas comprising oxygen and inert gas for 10 minutes to 10 hours. The silver nitrate solution is a solution having a concentration of 0.1 mol/L to a saturated concentration. The mixed gas comprises 0.1 ppm to 5% by volume of oxygen and the balance of the inert gas. The inert gas is nitrogen, carbon dioxide, argon, helium, or a mixed gas thereof. |
