<p>The present utility model relates to the process of producing indigenous fibers from bakong (Hanguana malayana) stems comprising the steps; harvesting good quality bakong (Hanguana malayana) plant growuing at least 1 meter in height, cutting and separating the leaves from the stems leaving only the stems for utilization, extracting the fibers from the stems manually by pounding and combing the stem repeatedly until only the fibers are left, air-drying the fibers by hanging indoor, scouring, bleaching and dyeing of fibers, softening using cationic softener then air-drying the fibers. It further relates to the use of the indigenous bakong (Hanguana malayana) fibers in the manufacture of gifts, housewares, holiday decors, fashion accessories, furniture and furnishing accessories, rope and textile.</p> |
