The position determining device (PV) comprises a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receiver (GE), and a signaling device (SV) having a signaling unit (SM1) for signaling lack of operability of the GNSS receiver to a mobile radio receiver (ME). A decision-making unit (EM) decides on the activation of signaling unit in response to the position determining quality of the GNSS receiver and the mobile radio reception characteristics of the mobile radio receiver.
