The present invention relates to a method for recycling waste MgO-C and a direct heating type vertical furnace for conducting the same. The method for recycling waste MgO-C includes (a) a step of inserting particulate waste MgO-C in a vertical furnace and laminating; (b) a step of heating at the bottom portion of the vertical furnace by dispersively supplying fuel and oxidant to burn the waste MgO-C; (c) a step of heating to an ignition point of carbon included in the waste MgO-C; (d) ceasing the supply of the fuel after the ignition of the carbon and supplying the oxidant two times of theoretical amount of air; and (e) continuously supplying thermal energy to the waste MgO-C using waste heat generated at the step of (d). The direct heating type vertical furnace for the recycling of the waste MgO includes a hopper for supplying the waste MgO-C, a body vertically installed at one side of the hopper, a burner provided under the body, and a porous plate separately installed on the burner. The waste MgO-C is heated while being vertically laminated in the body. Heat transfer and energy efficiency may be improved. |
